Wander>Home: Round Top Round Up Finale!

Picture this: a TON of tents pitched in a vast field. As soon as the bell signals the opening of the show, they slice through the tape and a stampede of eager shoppers rushes (literally RUNNING) towards the tents! You have to be on your toes, or risk being swept away. Sadly, I missed this exhilarating spectacle (the chandeliers diverted my attention)!

BUILDING A NEW HOUSE WITH OLD THINGS:Antique Chandeliers from Round Top

Battling doubts in my mind, I asked for measurements and mentioned that I’d need to consult my husband. I even expressed the need to envision it in our new home space. With a promise to REALLY consider sealing the deal, I began to exit the tent, only to realize I was running late to meet up with our group. Hastily, I explained the situation to David, and he offered to reserve it with my credit card if I was serious about purchasing. With butterflies in my stomach, I gave him my word, knowing I'd have to follow through.

Wander>Home: Round Top Round Up Part 3

On Monday evening, we were treated to an unforgettable event. Despite a brief spell of rain earlier in the day, the sun emerged, illuminating a stunningly beautiful afternoon. Dressed for dinner in a rustic pasture, I proudly rocked my fringe denim jacket, paired with my new vintage cowboy hat and trusty boots. I was head-to-toe ready for a true Texas experience! 🤠

WANDER > HOME: Lake Como, Italy!

Arriving at Villa Cipressi (which would be our “home” throughout our stay in Lake Como), history embraced us with open arms. The property's legacy, spanning nearly six centuries, spoke volumes of its rich past. Three distinct buildings stood proudly, each bearing witness to bygone eras. It was magical, to say the least. The oldest building, a relic from the 1400s, now housed the charming breakfast room and five bedrooms. Meanwhile, the 1700s and 19th-century structures gracefully accommodated the hotel's reception and additional rooms.

Nestled amidst magnificent botanical gardens, the villa offered an idyllic setting for leisurely strolls and soaking in the picturesque views of the lakeside scenery.

WANDER > HOME: Milan, Italy!

Stepping out from our hotel, we were greeted by the majestic presence of "Il Duomo di Milano." The sheer grandeur of this Italian Cathedral (an architectural marvel), built centuries ago, left us breathless. Coming from our standard US culture where we’re taught to spend years of our lives to earn a degree, it’s moments like these that remind me of the incredible talents and dedication of artisans throughout history – who never went to “school” for such craftsmanship!
