Round Top Recap 🤠

My first ever Lucy’s Inspired Shopping & Creative Retreat is officially in the books, and I equal parts can’t believe it’s already over AND can’t believe it actually happened!

Not only did it happen, y’all…it was a huge success.

And I’m not just saying that because I’m still giddy over how much fun we had (though I definitely am 🤗). Check out what a few people who came on the retreat posted on social media:

I’ll be honest – and if you’ve been getting my recent emails about our next retreat (sign up here to get them), you’ve heard me mention that I really had NO idea what to expect on this retreat.

I’ve attended a LOT of retreats myself, and have certainly hosted my fair share of dinner parties and creative workshops – but 4 days in a different city/state with a group of people who didn’t know each other?

Let’s just say, it was a healthy dose of FAITH along with the endless hours of planning that went into pulling off this experience.

The way the retreat turned out was beyond my wildest Texas-sized dreams

So much so, we’re doing it again March 26-30, 2025!

But before the Fall retreat is too far in the rearview mirror, I thought it would be fun to share a DAY-BY-DAY BREAKDOWN of exactly what we did!

DISCLAIMER: While this blog is intended to give a little sneak peek of what it’s really like to attend one of my retreats, it also doesn’t account for the many fun surprises that will be unique to each experience! What am I saying here? Allow this blog to clear up any confusion or doubt you might have about coming on the next one, AND rest assured here is plenty of magic that awaits you if you’re joining in the Spring!

ROUND TOP RECAP | LUCY’S INSPIRED SHOPPING & CREATIVE RETREAT, FALL 2024

☆ DAY 1 - WEDNESDAY ☆

Excitement and (previously mentioned) giddiness were on HIGH as we rolled our happy selves into the small town of Round Top, TX on Wednesday afternoon. My team and I spent MONTHS preparing for this day, and we were so eager to finally meet everyone and get the show on the road (no pun intended… antique show…get it? 😂).

8 women were about to experience the BEST of the Fall show at Round Top. Eeeek!

My team and I hit the ground running from the second we arrived - prepping the rooms at the stunning house we rented, stocking the fridge, stuffing goodie bags, cutting flowers, personalizing each space, and most importantly – getting ready to welcome everyone with open arms…and cheese…and prosecco!

As the group arrived, they were met with a huge grazing board and said bubbles to toast the beginning of the retreat. We made plates, started chatting, and didn’t stop until our heads hit the pillow! I’m not even kidding – it really was like we were all instant friends!

☆ DAY 2 - THURSDAY ☆

Thursday was GO TIME, baby! After enjoying a scrumptious breakfast and coffee, we got ready, loaded into the van (transportation to and from the different venues is included in the cost of the retreat which makes things SO easy for you), and headed to one of Round Top’s most iconic sites – Marburger Farm.

When we got there, we started out together but then naturally spread out as each person found things they were interested in! No joke – we literally all found something to take home from Marburger. From handmade paper to beautiful art to a cute horse figurine that we all ended up wanting to steal from our friend who found it first! 😂 Personally, I fell in love with a copper bin that I can’t wait to fill with blankets by the fireplace, kindling, or (let’s be honest) – dog food for my son’s precious pup.

As lunchtime rolled around and our tummies grumbled, we retrieved the personally packed picnic baskets from the van. We spread tablecloths, broke out the silver, and poured rose’. Need I say more? 🥰 And because I know you’re curious what kind of picnic we’re talking about here - lunch consisted of chicken salad croissants, a grain salad, a mini cheese board, and a petite Madeline cookie for something sweet. *CHEF’S KISS!*

We were fueled up and ready to continue our first full day of shopping at Round Top.

We headed out from Marburger to make a stop at The Compound and instantly agreed—a greenhouse in the backyard (or maybe even the dining room) is a must-do project for when we get home 😂! We stumbled upon a stunning tablescape which was so inviting, it had us ready to sit down for another meal (even though we were still busting from lunch)!

Afterward, we loaded up and made our way to another venue called Excess II, where we happily spread out to explore. I came across a gorgeous coat crafted from antique textiles—perfectly cozy for winter campfires ahead.

Quick Note: I remember everyone pointing out how glad they were to be on the retreat so they didn’t have to figure out which venues to go to and when! This was a huge relief for them and they loved getting to just be “along for the ride” – ready to show up and shop!

By 4pm, we were ready for a break so we headed back to the house to rest and freshen up before dinner.

We spent the evening under the stars at Bader Ranch which was simply iconic. My team and I made reservations WELL in advance at a pop-up dining experience called “Y-Comida” and boy oh boy was the meal delicious! It was a fun night enjoying wonderful food, margaritas, and cocktails around the firepits. The ambiance was 10/10.

After a FULL (in the best way) day, we slept like babies 😇

☆ DAY 3 - FRIDAY ☆

Friday was definitely Fri-YAY.

After another yummy breakfast (they’re prepared fresh for attendees each day 🤠), we gathered in the sunroom for a hat workshop led by ME! We created the cutest and coolest western style hats – so fun because everyone wears them in Round Top but each one of ours were ONE-OF-A-KIND. Some people in our group brought fun little things to add to their hats, and some bought things on Thursday! It was such a relaxing and creative morning.

With our new hats we were ready to hit the town, we headed out to walk around Henkel Square (another infamous Round Top spot) before enjoying a wonderful lunch at Lulu’s! The atmosphere was so pleasant and the food was just what we needed to send us into the rest of our day.

Our afternoon took us to Blue Hills, where SIX new barns (shopping areas) called for the rest of the day to fully explore the venue. These beautifully designed barns felt more like charming shops than traditional barn sales—such a unique experience! We treated ourselves to donuts from The Cotton Shed and enjoyed some lively music along the way. Later, I dropped a few of the girls off at the house and the rest of us made a quick trip back to visit East End Salvage.

You might remember the counter I bought from them for our new home (built with old things 😁). This time, I scored a few treasures, including my favorite find—potter boards for the shelving in my studio 😍. I can’t wait to set them up and transform the space with new storage, workspace, and display areas!

Friday night was an absolute treat, with Gold Epicure in town to indulge us in an incredible open-fire dinner at our house. Words can’t capture how delicious everything was—especially paired with the amazing wines someone in our group brought for us to share!

From edible orchids and watermelon feta salad to pork belly and brisket, it was Texas cuisine at its finest.

The room was alive with the hum of conversations, the sound of forks meeting plates, and glasses clinking. It was an evening of deepening special new friendships, creating bonds, and turning strangers into lifelong connections. I’ll never forget it!

☆ DAY 4 - SATURDAY ☆

We left the final day open for everyone to decide how to make the most of it. Some stayed close to the house to watch football and start packing, while others ventured to Warrenton (another shopping venue) and scored some incredible deals!

Once we heard about their finds, the rest of us couldn’t resist, and soon we were all weaving through tent after tent 😂. From rugs and rabbit fur coats to kimonos, the selection was delightfully eclectic—a perfect way to wrap up our week of shopping!

Saturday night was intentionally low-key and perfect—pizza, salad, wine, and Royer’s famous pies (IYKYK). We slipped into our jammies, shared stories about our favorite finds, made plans to get together again soon, and tackled the final packing into the two cars bound for Alabama (thank God for them)!

__

Truth be told, I’m still on cloud 9 from the Fall retreat and cannot wait to welcome another group to Round Top in the Spring.

From all of the delicious food, to unparalleled shopping, and getting to create wonderful experiences every step of the way (did I mention we helped everyone with the logistics of shipping larger items home?)...it was such an honor to help my new friends enjoy one of my favorite places in the world!

I hope you enjoyed living vicariously through us as you read this blog, but guess what – this iconic experience can be your REALITY in March 2025! My team and I are already hard at work putting the details together, and access has opened for my exclusive “first to know” list. Do you wanna be on that list before I open doors to the public? CLICK HERE and i’ll send the info your way.

SEE Y’ALL IN ROUND TOP! 🤠💫
