In the sanctuary of our homes, we often find peace, security, and comfort. Our favorite couch that’s been perfectly worn-in, the aroma of our favorite home-cooked meals, the voices and laughter of our loved ones, and the familiar hum of everyday life provide an unmatched sense of well, home.

Home is where we retreat after long days, and seek refuge from the demands of the high-paced, go-go-go outside world. After all, home is where the heart is, right?

But what if home was just the beginning? What if home, in all of its glory, was something to return to, but not necessarily something to settle into?

I’ll be the first to tell you that I find deep, immense tranquility within the walls of my home. Yet over the past several years, a seemingly counterintuitive thought has begun to stir in my spirit: What if venturing beyond the sacred walls of our homes has the power to offer inspiration unlike anything else?

I realize that the impact of travel and exploration on our lives is not a new, flashy revelation. I know that humans have spent decades reveling in the magic of wandering. Andddd, I also know that in our hectic way of life, it is natural to slip away from seeking out inspiration. Our speedy society has us convinced that being home is better, and while I agree that there are moments this is true, I believe that in many cases, there’s something even greater awaiting.

In my new blog series, we'll explore the profound idea that wandering can be greater than being at home, solely because of the unparalleled inspiration it brings.

My hope is that these stories inspire you to step out of your comfort zone, embrace the unknown, and let the world become your muse. I hope the tropical setting on your desktop background becomes more than just a fantasy destination. I hope “We’ll plan that trip someday” becomes a call to your travel agent today. I hope the trip to the lake (or even the grocery store!) becomes less about just going through the motions, and more about seeking inspiration wherever the road takes you.

Lastly, I hope these blogs equip and encourage you with practical ways to bring the wandering back into your home, driving inspiration and even deeper comfort into your everyday life.

Traveling can be so beautiful while we are in it. We relax and enjoy the scenery, food, and smells…but how can we emulate that in our own home is the magic of it all. Stay tuned for more in the next WANDER > HOME blog, coming soon ✨
