Understanding Wholesale vs Retail

Understanding Wholesale vs Retail

This question comes up a lot lately with so many sales coming from online sources.

Why would I want to sell wholesale? aren’t storefronts a dying space?

with the way 2020 shook out and covid keeping us all at home. We did a lot of online shopping!! I know I did.

it’s important to realize we still want to touch and feel certain things…especially unique and one of a kind things. i whole-heartedly feel like you need your own space online as a website or on etsy, but selling to stores will do more for your business than you could imagine!

When you are selling retail it seems you are making more money, but you are selling one to two pieces at a time. this becomes a lot more work in the end.

when you are selling wholesale, you are selling bigger quantities and shipping fewer boxes!

I went from traveling to craft shows and vintage markets in 2015 to going to market for the first time in january of 2016 and doubled my income from the year before in that first show!

The best thing about wholesale is creating relationships with the stores and earning their trust. When you work on that relationship, you will introduce new products each season and they will continue to order the new and reorder the best sellers!

There's a lot to learn about how to get started and how to make it efficient. if you haven’t already, download my 4 ways to sell wholesale checklist and let me know what questions you may have!
