Lucy’s Inspired: Current Delights
I was in the Bahamas for a long weekend celebrating my 52nd birthday with my husband. We stayed at the Abaco Inn ☆ HIGHLY RECOMMEND ☆ and I was enamored with the open concept of the whole place. The villas? Cozy, sure, but who wants to be indoors when you're in the Bahamas? Not me, I was up with the sunrise every morning and watching the caretaker, Tom, put out salt and pepper shakers and coffee service. He knows everyone that comes and goes and treats them all like family! All seating is open air (except a small room in the back where no one wants to sit unless it’s pouring rain and the wind is blowing). It’s giving me all the outdoor ideas for our new home build! Everything here makes you feel like you are at home in one of the most beautiful places on earth! Grab yourself a cup and watch the sunset. If you do nothing else. This, you have to do this! There is a group of locals that meet here around 7:00 am to talk island gossip, what needs to be repaired at their place, and what adventures they are on for the day. It’s fun to listen in and I got asked to see the painting I was working on to find out that they meet on Wednesdays to get together for lunch and to paint! Eeek. pack my bags, I’ll be moving. Or at least getting here on Wednesdays instead of Thursdays from now on!
Earlier in the week, my cute friends gathered to help me celebrate my birthday before we left for the Bahamas. What I thought was a casual Wednesday dinner turned into a parade of the different personalities of Lucy. Y’ALL. Journal Lucy, Stitching Lucy, Artist Lucy, Camp House Lucy, Bahamas Lucy, Travel Lucy, Pilates Lucy, and Flashback Lucy all showed up with wigs, hats, and props to have dinner and make me feel so special! I guess that gives you a little insight into my brain. There are a lot of angles and you never know which one will show up! Lately, it’s artist, travel, and journal lucy! FYI
I’ve been watching a ton of Sandi Hester’s YouTube videos all week and have been water-coloring landscapes like it’s my job. It is not my job because no one would pay me to do this. I have loved playing, though, and using my supplies, and just putting paint on paper to see something come of it that I can recognize!
