Introducing the Lucy Prism

Who knew a necklace would start a whole new segment of my business. I started making one of a kind necklaces with vintage architectural hardware when I worked for an architectural salvage store, Southern Accents Architectural Antiques as their Creative Director. It was there that I found a passion for all the details of vintage hardware. I loved finding new pieces and adding small, feminine touches to them to make them wearable adornments. The keys were the staple and is still one of my favorite things to dig through!

One of my best friends, Ashlee, brought over my birthday gift a couple of years into this jewelry making business and inspired what is known as the Lucy's Inspired Prism line. This girl knows how to give a birthday gift! She actually has a gift closet with baskets that are labeled for each person. She fills them up throughout the year with things that remind her of them and then presents them at their birthday! It's such a treat to get a gift bag full of items that you love! She's a maker and knowing that I made jewelry with architectural items, she decided to give me something that would pair well with my current jewelry of choice. She brought me a chandelier prism on a piece of suede that became a staple in my wardrobe. I wore it so often and decided I should add my personal touch with a key and a new addition to the line was born!

I still have the original, but, unfortunately, I have worn out the suede so I haven't worn it in awhile. I need to replace it and put one of my special keys on there so I can wear it again. The problem is when I wear something, I usually end up selling it or giving it to someone!! This is where the idea of the Inspire to Give necklace comes from!

I hope you enjoy the story behind the necklace! We are excited about this series to let you know a little more about how the necklaces got their names and showing you some of our favorite ways to wear them!

I love my Lucy Prism necklace. I wear it a lot with colors so the colors show thru. I am a Realtor and I think sometimes people think I wear it because of the key. Always a nice conversation starter. I actually found Lucy Farmer designs in a Southern Living magazine in an article they wrote about her. I live in Tennessee, so there you go…gotta read Southern Living. I love unusual things, antiques, vintage etc. mixed with the styles of today.
