The Market Beautiful is bringing their award-winning show to Laurel, MS! Special guests Ben & Erin Napier, hosts of HGTV’s Home Town will be helping kick off the inaugural Laurel show with a bang! They will be speaking and signing autographs in a meet-and-greet setting.
Y'all, I can't wait to get there! I met with Jana and Vanessa a couple of years ago when they were looking at hosting an event in Birmingham and we just couldn't nail down a spot. I love their vision and these girls have some major drive! You can order
Thanks for visiting our website. Thanks for making purchases for those that you love.
Thanks for believing in me.
Happy Tuesday! We're so excited to introduce you to one of the newest
members of the Lucy's Inspired Prisms, the beautiful and convertible Clara.
I named this necklace after my
We love calling this the wear-with-everything-necklace. It literally goes with everything in my closet! This is the Alcie necklace. My husband's great grandmother's name was Alcie and they called her Alcie Maw. I never knew her, but she has a legacy and is talked about often at our family gatherings!
We are in the middle of organizing the workshop and all the orders we wrote at the Gift Market! It’s a whirlwind and so exciting! I can’t wait to get all of the prisms out to so many stores! There’s pictures being made and the website is going to get a huge overhaul. I can’t wait to share more!
I had a fun cuff workshop at Oh My Sole in Helena tonight. There were 15 ladies there and everyone got to go home with a one of a kind cuff that they designed!! I think everyone was thrilled with their finished piece. I was so glad Lori took pictures!
January is a month of beginnings and new, fresh starts. I love that about it. It’s also unpredictable weather where in Alabama it can be in the 60’s most of the time and every once in awhile we get snow. I planned to go to Nashville for the weekend because my birthday is next week. Birthdays are fun. It started snowing in Nashville last night and it snowed All. Day. Long. So, I’m sitting in my bed with my cute escape bag full of my sewing for the weekend.
Not that I’ve taken days off, but being in Atlanta for market was being away from the workroom. What a whirlwind that was! Y’all. It was overwhelming in the best way!! We opened stores all over the US! From Alaska to several in California, New York, Boston, Oklahoma, LAS VEGAS!! The list is long and I can’t wait to get them all over this great big world!
I made things today. It felt so good to accomplish something! We are heading to the Gift Market next Wednesday at the America’s Mart and I’m terrified!! It’s just the unknown, ya know? How do you prepare for something you’ve never done before? We are only showing Lucy’s Inspired Prisms. I feel like this is such a great wear-with-everything-necklace so, maybe everyone should have one! We sold so many this Fall and Holiday season, I couldn’t believe it! Thanks to all of you who bought one for yourself, friends, significant others and all the stores that couldn’t keep them in stock!
This feels redundant. I feel like I do the same things everyday. I make lists and only check off portions of them. I have a lot to do before next week and I’m waiting on this or that to finish anything!
I did go to TMB skin clinic this morning and get to chat with Amber while she gave me a moisturizing peel. I do this every month, y’all. I want to take care of my skin. It’s the money maker, ya know? Haha, just kidding, but it is the first thing people see. I want it to look nice and not crusty. Right now with all of this cold air and the heat on high, my skin is so dry you can almost hear it crack! That is not good for wrinkles. Wrinkles love dry skin. So, Amber coated me down with some kind of moisturizing peel and now my face feels all nice and shiny. It’s my guilty pleasure. I’ve been going to the clinic for so many years, I’ve lost count and they pluck my eyebrows and derma plane my face and we catch up on what’s happening in the world. I’ve had many a business conversation in that chair!!
When I get overwhelmed, I want to quit. Just runaway and leave it all behind. Of course, i would never do that. I’m an A-type personality and I am determined to finish. I do give myself breaks and know the limits.
I found a picture from our Exumas vacation last summer and I was craving that beach and no internet access so bad! I posted a picture on Instagram asking for someone to kidnap me. I had several that wanted to go with, but no one showed up to take me away today! I think I convinced at least two families to take a vacation there. I need some referral fees! (wink)
I overbooked myself this morning and my 8:30 cancelled! I was so relieved. It’s not a smart move to overbook on a Monday. The first Monday of the year. The first Monday after being off for over a week!!
I got to sit down with a client and talk about her beach house!! We are going down at the end of the month to “assess”. I can’t wait! It’s in good shape, just needs a little tweaking here and there. She watched Beach Flip on HGTV and wants me and Daphney to come and work our magic! haha. I think we may even film it and have a few “episodes” air somewhere on these internets! I’ll keep you posted. It may just show up here on this blog and go viral….you never know!
We started working on booth design at 9:30 this morning. It was early and cold. I needed to be inspired. I was not into it. We found a gorgeous navy velvet yesterday and a wallpaper we need to order, but the actual logistics of putting it all together was giving us a hard time. We had a couple of ideas, but couldn’t perfect them and we headed to the Home Depot.
We were in the lumber section and needed a few pieces cut. That’s when a home improvement store genius asked us what we were building. We told him a booth for a show and he guessed jewelry. Still not sure what gave him the clue, but like I said, he was a genius. Seriously, though, he took our idea and walked us around the store showing us exactly what we needed. A miracle on Sunday.
So, I’m taking my jewelry to market for the Gift Show this month. I’m totally freaking out and trying to trust myself that this is what I need to do at this point in my business. We worked on gathering all the pieces for the booth today. We are going to build it before we go and then rebuild once we get there. So. Much. Work. I’m introducing several new prism styles and it seems like a lot of skus to have in one line. I’m hoping it will narrow itself down as the show progresses. This is a huge leap for me. It’s going to mean no one in the world wants my jewelry or it will mean I’ll be working my tail off making it!!! I prefer the latter. I really enjoy what I do and know that no matter the outcome, good things will come from the experience.
I posted this picture on Instagram today with this quote. “If you have anything really valuable to give to the world it will come through the expression of your own personality, that single spark of divinity that sets you off and makes you different from every other living creature.” -Bruce Barton
I can’t describe how much I love a new year! I love a new day, a new week, a new month, but a new year? It’s like throwing out all the bad and starting fresh with a whole new outlook on life!!
So many good things are rolling around in my brain and I can’t wait to get them out and into the world! We have a busy first half of the year planned and there’s no time to waste! I’ve been a little slack since Christmas Day and need to get back into my swing of pushing hard everyday. Don’t worry, I rest. I sleep like a bear every night! I get a good 7 hours with a tidge of toss and turn almost every night of the week!
Got on the highway to head northeast today to my momma’s. We don’t have a set time to celebrate with her. It always depends on what day Christmas falls on. Oh lord y’all. She just said she got her a yetsie cup from the co-op. She’s hilarious. Earlier today Carson, my nephew, said something. No one even knows what. She started laughing so hard and then we were all staring at her waiting on her to tell us what was so funny. She. Couldn’t. Stop. She could barely get a good breath!!! The kids thought she was crazy!
It’s always fun to come to Loudon, Tennessee. It’s small town and my mom could totally be the mayor. She knows everyone and they all know her! we’ll be here for a couple of days, so I’ll take some pics and share on Instagram!
Welcome to Holidays at Moonglow Lake! I can’t believe it’s Christmas!! Thank goodness I have all of my shopping done with hours to spare! I hope you are at home or a comfortable place with family and have a nice cup of cocoa or a toddy and sit back and enjoy my home!
Our main focal point is this mantel. It makes a huge statement in our living area. We have a completely open floor plan and you can be in kitchen, dining and living room and see this, so I wanted it to feel comfortable.
I love that guys wait until the last minute! Especially guys that can come to my house with cash in their pockets! I should price gouge them!! I do wrap up their careful selections. Sometimes, I pick it out or make it special and they never even see it! I have it wrapped before they even come to pick up their packages!
I haven’t wrapped a single thing under my tree, though! I’ve got to get on that first thing tomorrow. I wrapped a few gifts that I bought for my Dad’s list. He was coming by to pick them up today so they would be under his tree Christmas morning. I got those squared away as he was walking in the door!
